Here’s the only kind of 5.56 NATO ammo you need for target shooting. Loaded to the U.S. Army’s own M193 specification, this cartridge features a 55 grain projectile and enough powder to deliver the bullet at a muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps (24” test barrel). The full metal jacket is a lead core with a brass shell. It’s nonmagnetic. When it has a boat tail (BT), a bullet becomes more ballistically efficient. That helps it travel across a flatter line, stand up to wind interference, and reach point B with more striking energy.
