If you already know your 308 bullet weights, then you’ll recognize this round’s 178 grain projectile as a hefty boy. It uses that mass to retain superior downrange momentum – the key to shrugging off wind resistance. The boat tail hollow point also features the drag-minimizing base and form-fitted lead core that are both requisite for outstanding long-range accuracy. The BTHP’s hollow point won’t trigger terminal expansion, however, which is why we wouldn’t choose this ammo for taking medium game. (A varmint, on the other hand … well, let's just say that a woodchuck won’t fare well against the 308 no matter what kind of bullet it’s packing.)
