This 308 Win cartridge is loaded with specially formulated temperature stable propellant that accelerates muzzle velocity by as much as 200 fps – without worsening performance by increasing recoil, chamber pressure or muzzle blast!

Hornady once used Doppler radar to confirm that aerodynamic heating is sufficient to deform conventional polymer tips. Thus they invented the Heat Shield – a tip that is immune to heat. The 168 grain ELD Match bullet’s always-perfect meplat gives way to a secant ogive AMP jacket and terminates in a low-drag boat tail. The 0.263 G7 BC projectile’s trajectory to 500 yards climaxes at just 18.9” above the muzzle line!

Hornady equips every Superformance Match load with a select brass case, which is thoroughly inspected for wall thickness uniformity and overall dimensions before receiving its match-grade projectile. These long-range target rounds are not designed for hunting, as the ELD Match is not designed for terminal expansion.
