Hornady Ammunition 200 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Ammo Details
Founded in 1949, Hornady had a humble beginning as a simple two-man operation. Today, Hornady is an industry leader in ammunition innovation and performance. Hornady’s Custom line is manufactured to tight tolerances using only high-quality components. All Hornady Custom ammunition is inspected by hand to hand-loaded precision in a factory-produced round.
Featuring Hornady’s signature XTP (eXtreme Terminal Performance) jacketed hollow point projectiles, this .45 ACP (Auto) ammunition is ideal for personal protection applications. Weighing in at 200 grains, these XTP bullets are specifically designed to expand reliably even at lower handgun velocities.
XTP bullets are engineered with a varied jacket thickness running the length of the bullet. This design aids in expansion and provides a major advantage over standard hollow points that are constructed with uniform jacket thickness. The XTP also features small serrations which strategically weaken the copper jacket, ensuring reliable expansion at low velocities. The lead core of the XTP is swaged to reduce minor imperfections, resulting in near-perfect balance and improved in-flight stability. These features make Hornady XTP one of the most accurate pistol bullets ever made.
Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 900 feet per second, each round generates 360 foot pounds of muzzle energy. This factory fresh ammunition is 100 percent non-corrosive, and is assembled with reliable boxer primers and reloadable brass cases. Each package contains 200 rounds packed in 20-round boxes.
