Hornady Ammunition 50 Grain V-MAX Ammo Details

This 22-250 varmint hunting cartridge by Hornady has certainly got speed on its side. As a Superformance round it effectively adds 100 to 200 fps to your rifle’s muzzle velocity, but without needlessly increasing recoil, fourling, or sensitivity to temperature. At just over 4,000 fps, this round’s starting velocity will make your shots straight and do a lot of damage far downrange!

Varmints like this round even less because of its 50 grain V-MAX. The bullet’s sharp polymer tip and uniformly dense swaged lead core give it terrific accuracy, and because the tip is perched over a cavity in its core it builds up enormous energy before causing absolute fragmentation during penetration. While Hornady is most famous for their bullets, they apply the same minutia that made them that way into loading cartridges as well. These rounds were crafted by seasoned specialists and scrutinized by sticklers before being boxed up.

EXCELLENT AMMO. My father gave me his 1976 Sako 22-250 2 years ago. I shot it several times w some of his older boxed ammo, and could only get 1.5-2" groups. I was not impressed so I did not use it much.. I read that the twist rate was 1 in 14", so decided to try these loads with lighter/shorter bullets. I WAS AMAZED -- 1/4" and 3/8" groups! Could not have expected better! Shot from bench on sand bags, but in the wind in open area and not using my best technique. WILL DEFINITELY ORDER MORE. My chronograph was not working, but can assume great velocity uniformity by group size.
