Remington Ammunition 125 Grain Pointed Soft-Point (PSP) Ammo Details

Ever since its introduction all the way back in 1939, Remington’s Core-Lokt projectile has proven again and again why it’s one of the best things to happen to deer hunting since our ancestors figured out how to stick animals with pointy things. This 30-06 cartridge’s projectile is designed for hair-splitting accuracy, not only because it’s an aerodynamically efficient pointed soft point, but because it has a spitzer shape profile that flattens its trajectory to let it find its way to its target every time. When it does, the bullet’s soft core peels away to create absolutely devastating expansion. The Core-Lokt’s jacket is specifically engineered to promote that expansion, enabling it to consistently double its starting diameter during penetration. Best of all, the Core-Lokt’s design locks its core and jacket together, promoting the weight retention needed for a deep wound channel as well. Don’t take any chances this deer season -- put your trust in the bullet that has dominated for over eight decades!

I bought several boxes of this load a few years back. It's a decent close range deer load that drops them with authority and is easy on the meat. The reason I'm only giving it three stars is I have two rifles chambered in .30-06 (a Savage and a Sako) and it's far and away the least accurate load I've used in either rifle. Not much good on deer sized game past 100 yards.

I started to use this round in my 30-06. I wonted a round that had knock down energy but did little damage on the exit. This round works great on whitetail deer. It saves a lot of meat on exit where the 150's and 180gr bullets will bloodshot a lot of meat on exit side. Most of my shot's are between 50 and 125yds. would not use for black bear.
