The 30 Thompson Center (30 TC) was developed for Thompson Center Arms by Hornady and first made available for commercial sale in 2007. As the caliber’s originator, you can trust Hornady to have made this hunting round right. It’s part of their Superformance line of ammunition, and as such it increases a rifle’s muzzle velocity by up to 200 fps without adding more recoil, chamber pressure, or other unwanted side effects.

This round features Hornady’s own GMX projectile. The bullet is most notably made entirely of copper alloy. This does more for it than making it California compliant; It further causes less fouling and is tough enough to consistently retain 95 percent or more of its weight during penetration. The long, sleek GMX has pressure relieving grooves in its shank, which along with its pointed polymer tip flattens its trajectory out substantially. Upon impact that tip initiates expansion up to 1.5 times the GMX’s original diameter. With such great in-flight and terminal performance you’ll be a hot item come next deer season.
