20rds – 303 Savage Bannerman 150gr. FSP Ammo Details
This ammo will not work in a 303 British rifle.Bannerman Cartridge Company has an interesting niche. The American outfit specializes in producing cartridges that are normally maddeningly difficult to find in brick and mortar stores, such as 7.7 Japanese and 7.35x51 Carcano. But this ammo, right here? It’s 303 Savage: the cartridge that Savage Arms failed to sell to the U.S. military, but which was very popular for deer hunting back in its heyday.
This cartridge is loaded with a 150 grain flat soft point bullet, which has precisely the nose profile required for safe operation in a lever-action rifle. The bullet’s broad, flat tip transfers lots of energy to its target while simultaneously cutting out a wide wound channel on impact. Its copper-alloy jacket proceeds to hold the bullet mostly together as its lead core delivers terminal expansion. A classic, simple and effective projectile for taking all sorts of medium game.
This new production ammo is loaded in the United States using clean-burning propellant charges and noncorrosive Boxer primers, both of which create chamber pressure that is safe for antique rifles (assuming they are in proper working condition). Its nonmagnetic bullets and new reloadable brass cases were all manufactured by Prvi Partizan of Serbia.
