The hollow point boat tail’s tip is often mistaken for the kind of nose cavity that delivers terminal expansion. In fact, the bullet has an open tip because its jacket was formed first and subsequently injection molded with liquified lead.
The HPBT’s form-fitted core and brass alloy jacket give it balance, ballistic efficiency, and the inability to attract a magnet. Its heavier 175 grain weight helps the bullet conserve momentum more efficiently.
