Tula Ammo 150 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details
It doesn’t matter how much money you’ve got -- it’s always nice to have a little more. That’s the main appeal of Tula, a Russian manufacturer which since 1880 has specialized in the mass production of cost-effective ammunition. This 308 Win round achieves its superior affordability thanks to its steel casing. Iron ore is always going to be in greater abundance than the copper variety, and Russia’s positively lousy with the stuff. This round’s casing is coated with a thin layer of polymer, which makes it more lubricious for better feeding and ejection through a bolt action or semi-automatic firearm. Its 150 grain projectile is coated with zinc, which is more consistent than the bi-metal jacket that Tula formerly dressed their bullets in, and accordingly grants better accuracy.
This round has a Berdan primer, which in conjunction with its steel casing puts the kiss of death on any aspirations you might have had for handloading it. Still, its attractive price tag makes this a great round for anyone who doesn’t insist on reloading every casing they happen across.
