Haven’t heard of M855 ammunition before? Don’t balk at the chance to snap it up whenever you see it – this is a great pick for an AR-15 or any other rifle that’s chambered for 5.56x45, because it’s awesome to have on hand for range shooting and home defense.The 62 grain M855 bullet is what’s known as a penetrator. Its jacket is made of regular gilding metal, and the rear section of its core is conventional lead. The front section, however, is made of steel. This hardens the bullet a great deal (in addition to making it magnetic), thus enabling it to pierce 1/8” thick sheet steel at ranges beyond 500 yards.
The military frequently uses M855 ammunition, but this is not military surplus. Prvi Partizan manufactured this 5.56 ammo recently in Serbia, and its non-corrosive primers and fresh brass cases are standing by to deliver reliable performance however you shoot.

Order came lighting fast however the PPU ammunition came in a different box than advertised and I can’t tell if it’s a boat tail design. No specifications on box make me wonder if quality control is an issue. Will order more.
