Hornady's Frontier line combines their own load formulas with Lake City brass and manufacturing techniques in order to produce 5.56x45mm ammunition of unparalleled quality. This particular load uses a 62-grain spire point bullet which is great for taking down varmints during a hunt as well as for self-defense situations. The spire point bullet uses a knurled cannelure to lock a copper jacket to a dense lead core, leaving only the tapered tip exposed; this results in a bullet that flies true with very little drag, expands immediately during entry into a target, and expends its energy in the most vital areas of a target in order to yield a faster stop.
