22 WRF Ammo
The 22 Winchester Rimfire (aka 22 WRF, or 22 Remington Special) is not to be confused with 22 LR, 22 WMR, 22 Short, or 22 Win Auto. That said, you can safely fire 22 WRF ammo in a 22 WMR firearm. It’s more powerful than the 22 LR, but also less accurate. There aren’t many people left who once bought new 22 WRF rifles, but Winchester does still manufacture the ammo folks need to fire their heirlooms.
