250rds – 12 Gauge Winchester Super Target 2-3/4" 1oz. #9 Shot Ammo Details

This 12 Gauge shotshell is from Winchester’s Super Target label. It is indeed super for targets, as it’s loaded with a full ounce of #9 shot. The itty bitty .08” diameter pellets aren’t very useful for hunting unless you’re after America’s ittiest of bitty birds -- even so, many would say you’d do better with #8 for such hunts. What #9 indisputably excels at smashing clays. You’ll find it used at the Olympics for that very reason.

This shell features a hinged wad, which not only noticeably soaks up some of the recoil during ignition but further contributes to this shell’s 1,180 fps muzzle velocity. Its primer does an impressive job of igniting much of its quick burning propellant all at once to accomplish that muzzle velocity as well. Winchester’s shot pellets are hard enough to resist deformation, so you’ll enjoy the dense patterns that you can’t do without while you’re out wrecking pottery.
