Winchester has designed these .45 ACP rounds for shooters who want to do some serious drill work without sacrificing their well-practiced sight pictures and holds at long distance. Cartridges from the "Train & Defend" line offer reduced recoil for extended range sessions but with specially designed criteria which shares ballistic trajectory with standard loads. This allows shooters to focus on the task of improvement with less distracting wrist pain and no worries concerning "training scars." The 230 grain full metal jacket (FMJ) projectile used in this load is a standard for the caliber and will feed reliably in full size handguns.

Winchester has shaped these FMJs with a flat head for performance similar to a semi-wadcutter; this projectile type leaves clean, round holes in targets for easy scoring and zone recognition. In addition, "Train & Defend" rounds have their reloadable brass casings equipped with lead-free primers for safer shooting indoors and less cleaning afterwards.
