The “FBI Load” has a long history of providing consistent high performance as a self defense round. It may be considered old school but I believe in it’s track record.

This is great ammo. The federal 158gr I shoot and reload it and the +p rating is good in both. Load federal brass with speer 158gr lswchp bullets to +p setting you can't go wrong.

I first used this ammo with my Ruger 357 Security Six in the 1970's as a security guard. I found the gun and ammo decent.

This is the only 38spl +p round i know that has consistent expansion every time. The soft lead 158gr gives deep penetration too. In my opinion it is the best self defense 38spl +p round on the market. It was also the FBI’s round for many years.

This is reliable ammunition. The recoil is manageable , and in low light, the muzzle flash is no greater than standard velocity ammo. It goes “bang!” every time I squeeze the trigger. It is a viable contender for one of the top ammo choices for use in small frame revolvers rated for +p use.

I carried this round as a city police officer in Metropolitan Denver for eight years, and as a private investigator at Colorado, Wisconsin, and Florida for an additional 20 years. On the range and in the field, the ammunition never failed me. I used S&W Models 19, 15, 36 and 60. The k and j frames had no difficulty with this +P ammunition.
