This package contains 50 rounds of Federal LE Tactical .40 Smith & Wesson ammunition. Each round is loaded with a 165 grain HST hollow point projectile. These specially designed HST hollow points will not plug, even when passing through tough barriers. The result is impressive weight retention and terminal expansion, perfect for self-defense situations.

This is the next generation in high performance personal protection ammunition. Featuring a round nose profile and nickel-plated brass casings, these rounds deliver smooth, feeding, function and extraction. When paired with Federal Premium’s unique clean-burning primers, you get the ultimate in function and reliability. Each round produces a consistent muzzle velocity of 1130 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 468 foot pounds.

Gel test Results

We tested this Federal Ammunition 40 Smith & Wesson ammo by firing five rounds with a S&W M&P40c with a -inch barrel into calibrated Clear Ballistics gelatin. Of those five rounds, we discovered the ammo penetrated an average of 18.92-inches into the gelatin. Our test rounds ended the test with an average expanded diameter of 0.676-inches, retaining 100% of the projectile's original weight.

Love these. I use these or 165 gr Gold Dots as my EDC rounds. Prefer these over the Gold Dots. Fortunately, I’ve never had to use them in a real world situation, but if the needs ever arises, I’m confident that I will be prepared. Great ammo, great price, great company. Thanks.
