50rds - 44-40 Win. Magtech 200gr. Lead Flat Nose Ammo Details

An undisputed leader in the industry, Magtech has been producing reliable, high-quality ammunition for nearly a century. Magtech retains total control over every step of the production process by manufacturing all the components used in their ammo. Combining cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, deliberate attention to detail, and first-rate raw materials, Magtech products deliver high-level consistency and performance.

These new production Magtech .44-40 Winchester cartridges are loaded with 200 grain lead flat nose projectiles. Well-suited for target shooting, these LFN bullets produce clean, round holes in paper targets. With less radial tearing, these projectiles offer easy scoring for serious target competition. With the impressive terminal expansion LFN bullets provide, these loads could also be used for home defense and other personal protection applications.

Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 1180 feet per second, each round produces a muzzle energy of 618 foot pounds. Packed in 50-round boxes, this ammunition is non-corrosive, boxer primed, reloadable, brass cased.

I bought Black Hills 200 gr. and Magtech 200 gr. ammo to shoot in my Uberti 1873 Winchester replica and Uberti Single Action Army replica revolver. I have to say that i will never buy Magtech ammo. It consistently jammed in the rifle, and several times it was difficult to eject case from the revolver. In fact it jammed in the revolver so hard that i had great difficulty getting the spent cases out. I suppose it was the expansion of the case due to an irregular load (?). Here i am trying to be charitable.

The Black Hills ammo fired and cycled flawlesly every time! And it was two dollars less expensive than the Magtech. I hope it's clear i will not buy Magtech ammo again, and i sincerely hope Magtech people are reading my review since their ammo is vastly inferior to the Black Hills 44-40 ammo. Go learn from Black Hills how to make ammo, for all the shooters' sake.
