For some reason these don’t shoot well out of my 44 magnum revolver. 240 grain shoots flat and straight. While these 300 grains shoot erratically. Couldn’t hit a simple soda can from 7 feet away, but 240 hit everything in sight.

I shoot this load in a 4” Taurus M44 and does it get the job done. Had a Black Bear nosing around my cabin, got a little to close and decided to come thru my door. First round hit just under the jaw from 10ft, traveled down the neck thru the right shoulder along the rib cage ending up just in front of the right leg. Dropped him on the doors mantle. Should have saved the second thru his head, just left a thumb sized hole in the floor. This ammo performed flawlessly, my “go to” woods round.

Very stout load. It's great fun to shoot in my stainless Redhawk--if you don't mind recoil. Brass is also good quality for reloading, if that matters to you.
I have no way of measuring the velocity, nor have I tried to test expansion or penetration. Softpoint bullets usually don't deform much in ballistic gelatin, not at handgun velocities anyway, but tend to "come alive" when fired from a rifle barrel. Penetration of the big heavy 300gr bullets in ballistic gel never fails to impress, whether they expand or not. -

This ammo is full powered, hard hitting, an more than accurate enough to pop a black bear, mountain lion, hog, etc... It's my woods carry load in Highlands NC at the family Mountain home where we have several bear that have gotten more than cozy with our home, up close, and personal... This flat point bullet hits extremely hard and tracks strait thru pelt, and flesh with high velocity to shatter bones and keep plugging right along, yet still retains control-ability for follow up shots . It's overkill for "Around-Town" carry though. For that, the 210grain Gold Dots in .44Special (also sold here @ ATG...)are perfect for 2 legged predators. But this 300grain, semi-jacketed, Truncated Cone bullet, is superb and just the ticket for "Woods-Carry."

One of the hardest hitting factory loads available at the best price. I have shot a lot of this in my 44 mag Vaquero and my Marlin 1894 with no signs of over pressure, blown primers or swelled cases you might see from other 'hotrod' loads.
