.577/.450 MARTINI-HENRY

The 577/450 Martini-Henry was Great Britain’s standard service rifle cartridge from the early 1870s until its replacement by the 303 British in the late 1880s. Like most military rifle cartridges, the 577/450 remained popular among hunters long after its official retirement. It’s a bit of a rarity in the United States nowadays, as our country successfully rid itself of British soldiers almost 100 years prior to the 577/450’s arrival.
