Federal Ammunition 125 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Ammo Details

This package contains 50 rounds of classic Federal LE Hi-Shok personal protection ammunition. Although designed specifically for law enforcement personnel, these loads are also well-suited for civilian self-defense and concealed carry.

Each factory fresh .38 Special cartridge is loaded with a 125 grain Hi-Shok jacketed hollow point projectile. Hi-Shok bullets hit hard, expand reliably, penetrate deeply, and deliver effective threat-stopping terminal performance. Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 950 feet per second, each +P overpressure round delivers 250 foot pounds of muzzle energy. This non-corrosive ammunition is boxer primed in reloadable brass cases.

Gel test Results

In hopes of giving ourselves and our customers a better idea how this 38 Special self-defense ammo would perform if called upon in a self-defense scenario, we tested dozens of the best selling hollow points on the market.

We fired five rounds of this Federal Ammunition 38 Special ammo through a cloth barrier into Clear Ballistics calibrated synthetic gelatin and recorded the results. For these tests, we used a S&W 640 with a -inch barrel.
