460 ROWLAND
The 460 Rowland (which is a .45 cal cartridge, despite what its name suggests) is a derivative of the 45 ACP. It was designed to deliver ballistic performance comparable to that of the 44 Magnum out of a semi-automatic pistol. A 460 Rowland pistol can safely fire 45 ACP ammo; but even if a 45 ACP pistol were capable of chambering 460 Rowland ammo, the significantly more powerful round would only succeed at blowing it to smithereens.
