This 2-3/4” shell is strong. If you count all nine of its 00 buck pellets together, its muzzle energy is approximately 1,887 ft lbs. That’s more powerful than any 44 Magnum – just spread out a little. But not too spread out, because the shell has two features that promote tighter patterning: hard and round lead shot pellets, and granulated buffering. The buffering is tiny grains of plastic that compress while the shot column is being accelerated to protect it against deformation. No fancy plastic wad here, though. Just a supple felt column backed by a payload of clean-burning powder.

Although it is loaded with Winchester components and to Winchester standards, this ammunition was actually made in France by Cheddite. These high-brass double-aught heavy-hitters come packaged five rounds per box, 50 boxes per case. They make perfect stocking stuffers for Southerners!
