The 270 Weatherby Magnum was Roy Weatherby’s first belted magnum cartridge modeled after the 300 H&H Magnum. Its 3.295” overall length allows it to function in standard long-action rifles. Its superb power means it still outperforms the 270 Win, 270 WSM and even the 6.8 Western despite having been developed during the early 1940s. Excellent for long-distance hunting; arguably too much juice for taking game in dense forest.
