284 WIN.
The 284 Winchester was introduced in 1963, and was designed to deliver similar performance to the 270 Win and 280 Rem out of Winchester’s new Model 100 and Model 88 rifles. It would never achieve the same popularity as the 270 Win, although its recent popularity among long-range shooters has compelled a few ammo companies to continue manufacturing it. A 130 grain bullet can manage a deer white well, although 150+ grain bullets are better suited for larger game.
