300 NORMA MAGNUM
The 300 Norma Magnum (aka 300 Norma, or 300 NM; not to be mistaken with 308 Norma Magnum) is essentially a 338 Norma Magnum case necked down to seat a .30 cal projectile. Capable of accelerating a 220 grain bullet to a velocity of ~3,000 fps, its effective range extends well beyond the 1,000-yard line. Currently used by USSOCOM snipers in the field.
