405 Winchester
The 405 Winchester (aka 405 Winchester Center Fire, or 405 WCF) is one of the most powerful rimmed rounds ever designed for lever-action rifles. It practically vanished from the commercial market by the mid 1950s, but was brought back in 2001 to celebrate the centennial anniversary of Teddy Roosevelt’s presidency. The 405 WCF was one of Roosevelt’s favorite safari cartridges: his “medicine gun for lions.”
